Looking back - recent spend data Spend data for October 2024 has been released. Hauraki Coromandel saw a 4.1% increase on the same time last year (STLY). This is up on the national average of 2.5%. This sees a slight turn around from the previous 3 months of July, August and September that were down in spend compared to STLY. This is most likely due to tough economic conditions that saw a greater decrease in spend across the country on average. Growth from international travellers and in particular the USA (up 23% for the last 3 months compared to STLY) has definitely helped. Pāuanui, Tairua and Southern Mercury Bay saw the greatest increases in spend for October and also the last 3 months when compared to STLY. Please note the spend data, provided by Worldline only reflects electronic card transactions and not cash or online bookings. Therefore the absolute total spend would be much greater. This data allows users to monitor trends in the market.
