Good morning, everyone! I hope you're doing well! Last week I mentioned the fires on the mountains of Tucson, AZ. Well, they got worse over the past week. In fact, many homes are being evacuated as high winds and high temperatures make the blaze incredibly difficult to battle. I don't recall it ever being this bad in the almost 30 years I lived in Tucson. Yes, there were wildfires in the past, but nothing like what they're experiencing now. We're thinking of all of those impacted and hoping that nature gives the brave men and women fighting the fire a reprieve!
My friend Damion Alexander, who's an avid cyclist, posted a picture that he took of a heart that's painted on the road up Mount Lemmon. It's a small thing, but he noticed that roadwork had covered up the heart that had been there for him, and every other cyclist, for years as they went up and down the mountain. So, Damion took the time to go back up the mountain and put the heart exactly where it was before it was painted over. In fact, he did it right before the highway was closed due to the wildfires plaguing the area. It's just a reminder to me of how awesome people are. Every one of us can do some little things that will make a big difference in many people's lives every day. You never know how one thing you do for yourself (painting a heart because you miss it) will positively impact so many others. Pretty darn cool!
For me personally, my family and I have been blessed enough to spend the past few weeks out of the heat of the valleys of Arizona, and have been in the White Mountains, where it's 20 - 30 degrees cooler, and it's been WONDERFUL! My beautiful bride introduced the family to Pickle Ball, which is lots of fun and easy enough for a giant like me to play (even with a knee that's rapidly going south). We've also spent time up here with friends and neighbors from Phoenix, and sadly we have to leave and go home, at least for a time. I'm GREATLY looking forward to coming back and having new adventures! Enjoying moderate temperatures (highs in the 70s and 80s) and going on miles-long walks with my beautiful bride never gets old!
OK, on to some lawsuit and
settlement updates!
That's all for now! I hope you've got some family fun planned with your family this summer! Make it a GREAT week!
Warm Regards,
