Coats for Kids Drive

Family Place is offering its Coats for Kids program again this year. Families can pick up nearly new winter coats up to size 12 from our clothing exchange at 120 Park Drive (yellow house behind All Saint’s Anglican Church). If you have coats you would like to donate please call 250-537-9176. No drop-offs please.

Barb's Buns Closed Monday for New Stove

We’ve been dreaming & talking about this for years. Actually since the day that Barb’s became ours back in 2005… And that day has finally come :) We are getting a Brand New Oven! We will be CLOSED this coming Monday September 29th to do a reshuffle in the bakery and the installation of our brand new oven.

Forum Presents Palestinian Doctor Izzeldin Abuelaish

The Salt Spring Forum presents Palestinian doctor and three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish. Dr. Abuelaish is an obstetrician and gynecologist who is currently an associate professor at the University of Toronto. He has dedicated his life to the pursuit of peace between Israel and Palestine.

Grace Islet Stop Work Order Issued by Coast Salish Nations

Today Chiefs from Coast Salish Nations issued a Stop Work Order to the construction crew on Grace Islet. The action comes as First Nations prepare to launch direct action in the absence of meaningful consultation or follow-through on multi-level stakeholder meetings.
