EXHIBITION - COMING SOON The evening's celebration of Kazem Hakimi's work begins at the Old Fire Station from 5.30pm. Join us at both venues to explore this snapshot of the real Oxford. "My customers are a cross-section of society and the photographs reveal an Oxford which is very different to the image of the city known to the outside world: one that is multi-ethnic and diverse. This series celebrates the range of characters who have made Oxford the city I love"- Kazem Hakimi. Modern Art Oxford and Arts at the Old Fire Station present the first major exhibition of portraits by photographer Kazem Hakimi. Well known in the East Oxford community, Hakimi has been taking photographs for 30 years; for the past two years he has been working specifically on the OX4 project presented in these exhibitions.
COMING SOON Modern Art Oxford and Tate Liverpool present chapters from Aleksandra Mir’s new work Space Tapestry. Inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and the artists who depicted Halley’s Comet in 1066, it is a large-scale hand-drawn monochrome wall hanging which forms an immersive environment.
