The Asia Media Centre is delighted to be able to host Jean Lee, an award-winning, Pulitzer Prize-nominated writer, commentator and expert on North Korea. Lee will share her thoughts on developments on the Korean Peninsula.

Lee led the Associated Press news agency’s coverage of the Korean Peninsula as bureau chief from 2008 to 2013. In 2011, she became the first American reporter granted extensive access on the ground in North Korea, and in January 2012, she opened AP’s Pyongyang bureau.

China: 'Beijing bikini' deemed uncivilised

The city of Jinan is cracking down on the 'Beijing bikini', which sees men roll up their shirts and expose their bellies in an unattractive attempt to cool down. Authorities complained the 'uncivilised' look was damaging the city's image.

Malaysia: Wolf of Wall Street producer arrested

Hollywood producer Riza Aziz, the stepson of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, has been charged with money laundering in Malaysia. Riza pleaded not guilty to laundering US$248 million from a state investment fund.
