ADA University community celebrated spring with the 3rd Annual Bahar Youth Festival

On  March 17th,  students of ADA University, employees of Coca-Cola, goodwill ambassadors of the 1st European Games 2015 and the residents of the capital Baku banded  together on the last Tuesday of Novruz holiday to plant trees in Dede Gorgud park located near the university building and to celebrate the spring holiday. This tree-planting action was part of a joint project of Coca-Cola and the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University (CCEE) "Plant a tree, give a gift to life."

Addressing the meeting, the Chair of the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University (CCEE), Elnur Soltanov, congratulated the participants with the upcoming Novruz holiday and said: "This is another "green result " obtained through the cooperation between ADA University,  Coca-Cola  and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, which continues to make our country more beautiful." ADA University and MsM's joint program ranked among best MBAs

Executive MBA in Energy Management, a joint program of ADA University and MSM is ranked #52 in the top 100 in  global ranking in the category of Sustainable Development and Environmental Management, Worldwide. This result is an outstanding achievement for a program that was only established in May 2013. The Executive MBA in Energy Management is a fresh, unique and internationally accredited management degree that is offered in joint collaboration between MSM and ADA University.

Career Management Center of ADA University held the 3rd Career Week

The beginning of the 2015 year was marked with a successful 3rd ADA University Career Week. From February 26-27th, ADA University hosted more than 80 organizations and representatives to celebrate years of cooperation in the development of young ADA talent. 43 companies were presented at the Career Fair with more than 200 career opportunities presented to ADA students and alumni.

Students had the unique chance to meet ADA leadership and learn about their career paths, life stories and get guidance in their professional development.

On February 27th, ADA University partners from various companies, government entities, international organizations and NGOs met graduate students of ADA University and alumni during the Graduate Gala Reception where they could establish professional ties, meet bright potential talents and grant an opportunity to mingle with high ranking officials in the country.

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs gave a lecture at ADA University

On 25 February, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E Mevlut Cavushoglu, delivered a lecture at ADA University on the topic of "Turkish Foreign Policy's vision of cooperation: Perspectives of the Caucasus and Azerbaijan”.

The lecture was attended by the representatives of various embassies accredited in Azerbaijan, ministries, state committees, as well as members of parliament, NGOs, students and faculty of ADA University.

The Rector of ADA University, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, welcomed everybody and informed the audience about the political career of Mr. Cavushoglu. “Mr. Cavushooglu’s vision and deep understanding for  regional security, development and cooperation is impressive. He has supported Azerbaijan’s agenda in the international arena, be it the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and in there forums such as Grand Assembly of Turkey,” said Ambassador Pashayev. The first ever “ADA - EU School” was held in Brussels

ADA University Centre of Excellence in EU studies and the Association of Young Azerbaijani Professionals in Europe (AYAPE) have co-organized for the first time the “ADA EU School” on March 22-27 in Brussels. 16 students of ADA University, both local and international, had a chance to hear about EU Treaties and Integration, EU, its values and relations, EU Foreign Policy and many more.

The event was supported by the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Index - Center for Human Capital Development.

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, head of the country`s delegation to the European Union Fuad Isgandarov addressed the event, hosted by member of the European Parliament Anna Zaborska. Read more....

ADA University collaborates with the Michigan State University

On February 18, 2015, at the invitation of the Rector of ADA University, a delegation from Michigan State University comprised of Dr. Donald Heller, Dean at the College of Education, and Dr. Todd Drummond, Acting Director, Office of International Studies, visited ADA University to strengthen collaboration, seeking ways to advance and enhance the relationship between the two institutions.

Over the past twelve months, the universities have collaborated to develop a multi-year partnership to create a School of Education within ADA University. This trip was an excellent opportunity for the delegation to visit ADA University’s partner institution – Education Complex #132-134 – and explore opportunities to develop a model high school within ADA University that is focused on student learning, and teaching the Azerbaijani language, culture and identity. Alumni and students of ADA University pay tribute to Alimardan bey Topchubashov

On February 3rd, ADA community paid tribute to one of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and celebrated Alimardan Bay Topchubashov Awareness Day.

Throughout the day members of the ADA Community wore special pins, students received detailed information about the life and activities of Topchubashov through promotional materials, and informational books and leaflets were exhibited in Student Center.
The awareness day also featured a special guest from Academy of Science, historian Irada Baghirova, who shed light on Topchubashov’s legacy. Read more...

Executive Education started 2015 with several large-scale programs

ADA University Executive Education started the 2015-year with three different programs. This included the 2nd Program for Turkic Council Junior Diplomats, two modules Program for State Securities Commission and the continuation of the Capacity Building Program for the Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee.

From 1-15 March 2015, ADA University Executive Education in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Turkic Council organized a training Program for the Turkic Council Junior Diplomats with the participation of 25 diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The training program presented sessions on common Turkic history, diplomatic correspondence and protocol, negotiation techniques, public diplomacy, security issues, economic diplomacy, transportation networks, international energy projects and other topics. ADA University and the University of Houston signed memorandum of understanding

ADA University and the University of Houston signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishment cooperation regarding academic opportunities for students and faculty. Both parties also agreed to contribute further to the regional understanding between both countries, cities and institutions through mutual cooperation programs. It was also agreed to enhance the international experience of faculty and students in the area of energy research, joint executive and master programs, and exchange of students and faculty. A ceremony of signing the Azerbaijani-Pakistani documents was held after the meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain, in an expanded format. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Special Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Amjad Hussain B. Apply to the 9th Annual Baku Summer Energy School!

BAKU SUMMER ENERGY SCHOOL (BSES) is an annual two-week certificate program of the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment (CCEE) of ADA University held in July in partnership with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). It brings together world-renowned scholars, academicians and policy makers to examine and gain a better understanding of global energy and environment issues and their practical application.

9th Annual BAKU SUMMER ENERGY SCHOOL will take place on July 4-17, 2015.

Application Deadline is April 30, 2015.

Students of ADA University had a study tour to Czech Republic

A group of students of ADA University visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Czech Republic on January 5th. H.E. Ambassador Farid Shafiyev welcomed the students and  talked about the diplomatic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic and the ways strengthening the cooperation between two countries.

Students also visited the Parliament where they were greeted by Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament. Mr. Hamacek highlighted friendly relationship between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic and the ways to improve it further.  The second speech and presentation was delivered by Mr. Ondrej Stec, Information and Marketing Specialist about the Investment Climate in the Czech Republic. His main emphasis was on Czech population, labor market,GDP growth, labour costs, western economies, services and potential investors. This part was very interesting for BBA Students and students took part in the discussion with the questions. The trip was followed by a tour to Parliament with special guide.

Students had a chance to visit Charles University, where they were welcomed by the International office and were given information about the historical background of the University.
