The running of the Melbourne Cup always seems to signal the beginning of the end of the year. But no signs of anything slowing down in Defence circles with the Navy exercising with the Chinese and the French and the Minister joining her counterparts in Malaysia for ASEAN meetings.

With the recent rollout of HMAS Farncomb after a relatively quick full cyclce docking and the posting of encouraging annual results, ASC is demonstrating significant productivity improvements. Nigel Pittaway investigates the likelihood of the two ex-Qantas A330s being fitted for VIP cabins as they undergo their conversions to MRTTs.

Given the departure of David Gould recently, CASG now has a new General Manager Submarines in ex US Navy admiral and submariner Stephen Johnson and the organisation has also signed a contract for in-service support of the C-RAM Giraffe radar with Saab Australia.

We are still taking submissions for our annual Top 40 Defence Contractors or Top 20 Defence SMEs for 2015 – we hope to hear from you! In the meantime follow our news on Twitter, facebook and LinkedIn,
