Last call for CRO Cards

CSCS is reminding the industry that time is almost up for 85,000 Construction Related Occupation (CRO) cards. All CRO cards issued since October 2015 expire on 30th September 2017. What each individual card holder needs to do next depends on the qualifications they hold and whether their occupation is considered to be construction related. Read more

UK NARIC Enhances document verification

From October 2017 UK NARIC will be introducing a new application process for holders of construction skills certificates that have been awarded overseas. This new process will include qualification verification of all applicants. From 1st October 2017 CSCS will require all overseas applications to go through UK NARIC’s new verification process. WJA training accepted by CSCS

CSCS and the Water Jetting Association (WJA) have agreed a new route to a CSCS card. The WJA Safety Awareness Training Programme has been approved by CITB as an equivalent to the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Water Jetting). This means that from 14th August 2017 to 1st September 2018, the WJA Safety Awareness Training Programme will be accepted as an approved route to a 3 year Experienced Worker CSCS card. Read more

Glazing gone to Q-Card

CSCS is notifying the industry that glazing occupations are being transferred to the Glazing Qualification Authority’s Q-Card. Following discussions between the two schemes, it is agreed that the Q-card is better placed to represent the glazing sector. Read more

CSCS accepts PCN

CSCS and the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) have agreed a new route to the blue Skilled Worker card. The PCN Certificate has been approved by CITB as an equivalent to an NVQ level 2. From 1st September 2017 the PCN certificate will be accepted as a qualification for the CSCS blue Skilled Workers card. Read more
