Although this time of year is usually slower when it comes to the real estate market, it's a time that I like to start gearing up for what's to come in the Spring. I'm currently meeting with clients to create "to-do" lists before listing, creating marketing plans, and lining up my business for what the real estate market may look like in the Spring. As you'll see from Windermere's economist, 2019 is most likely going to continue to stay strong. If you would like my help in creating ideas on how to improve the marketability of your own home for the Spring real estate market, please reach out. As always, thank you for following along with me on my real estate journey. REAL ESTATE MARKET ANALYSIS FOR 2019.Windermere has a team of dedicated economists who research and analyze real estate markets and trends. These economists have analyzed the Salt Lake real estate market and have concluded that 2019 looks like it will remain a strong and vibrant market. Although not a guarantee, there are factors in this particular market that suggest the real estate market will remain strong. 2018 was a strong year for real estate here in Utah, and it looks like 2019 will be following closely in its footsteps. Mortgage rates appear to be staying around the 5% mark and will continue to trend higher, with small points of decline and leveling. If you are looking ahead to 2020, expect interest rates around 6% to be the norm. There are still people suggesting that the housing market is headed for calamity and that another housing bubble is forming. But, with Windermere's research it seems that we are headed for smooth sailing. Needing a comparative analysis for a property? Pantone color of the year - Living Coral.Using the Pantone color of the year as a guide to inspire your home decor for the year is a great way to stay on-trend while keeping your home ever-changing and interesting. While the color this year is bright and may seem intimidating, there are plenty of classy and subtle ways to incorporate the color. From a simple throw pillow change to a piece of bold artwork, adding this color to your home will be a breeze, and brighten the overall color palette. Since it is still winter here in Utah, a bright color can really add life to a seemingly dull home, now that all the holiday decor has been put away. 1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add leeks, then cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 2. Add broth, potatoes, and pepper, then bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, then cover and simmer 25 minutes or until vegetables are very tender. 3. Use an immersion blender to puree soup or transfer mixture (in three batches) to a food processor, then process until smooth. 4. Stir in diced ham, and, if desired, cream, then season to taste with salt. 5. Reheat before serving; top with dill. Makes 6 servings or about 8 cups of soup. Enjoy!
