On Wednesday 19th September A&DS held its latest in the series of Public Sector Client Forum events – this time on the topic of Town Centre Living: A Caring Place. Despite the challenges of Storm Ali there was a fantastic turn out with a great mix of representatives from the health, care and community sectors.
There was lots of positive energy in the room with some excellent talks from Vintage Vibes, an Edinburgh-based community volunteer service tackling issues around isolation and loneliness, and Rod Mountain of Open Change on Realistic Medicine. The presentations were followed by facilitated sessions
that used a scenario tool to explore how our town centres – big and small – can better support an ageing population. The presentations from the day are available here.
The workshop sessions generated lots of material which will be distilled down and shared. Over the coming weeks A&DS will be reflecting on the learning from the session and taking the project forward with partners.
