Further Studies Lunchtime Session

Wespac has launched a scholarship program across five different catergories.  A representative from Westpac will be available to discuss the scheme at the Further Studies Lunchtime Session 25 May 12-2pm, New Law Foyer. You are invited to attend and discuss your eligibility for the scheme. A light lunch is included for all attendees. Register

Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA)
Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA) are scholarships to assist with general living costs and are awarded to students of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research at this university.  Eligible APA applicants will be automatically considered for both awards. The University awards these scholarships twice a year. Round Two is now open and is for admission to research period 3 or 4, i.e. July to October, of the same calendar year.  Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent residents, New Zealand citizen or a holder of a VISA that allows the applicant to enrol as a domestic student. 2016 stipend rate is $26,288 and will be indexed yearly. More Details

Early Prevention of Obesity in Childhood
An opportunity exists for a full-time PhD within the stream focused on the translation of evidence into policy and practice. Possibilities include identifying options for intervention through policy mapping, understanding the components of successful programs that prevent childhood obesity, and identifying the factors necessary for scaling up programs. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship is valued at $30,000 pa (tax exempt) up to 3 years. More Details

Sydney Business School Postgraduate Scholarship on Corporate Volunteering
The University of Sydney Business School is offering a PhD scholarship to work on a project exploring the societal and organizational benefits of corporate volunteering. The candidate will be based in the Discipline of Work and Organizational Studies (WOS) within the University of Sydney Business School. The scholarship is valued at $32,000p.a (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to 3 years. This scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by candidates although exceptional international applicants may be considered for a fee award. More Details

The Curtin PhD Scholarship for Clinical Research
Two generous scholarships are available for medical graduates to undertake a PhD through Sydney Medical School, with a focus on clinical research relevant to Indigenous or rural health.
These scholarships were established in 2015 by a generous donation from Dr Austin M Curtin, a rural surgeon passionate about improving rural and Indigenous health. Applicants must be an Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship is valued at $50,000p.a for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. More Details

Aspiration Initiative - Indigenous Scholarships
A number of scholarships for indigenous students are currently available via the Aspiration Initiative. These include the Roberta Sykes Bursary for Indigenous women, DST Indigenous Scholarship, Australian Indigenous Creator Scholarship and the NSW Department of Education and Communities Teacher Education Scholarship. Australian Pain Society PhD Scholarship
The Australian Pain Society (APS), Australian Pain Relief Association (APRA) and sponsor Seqirus announce a PhD Scholarship for June 2016-July 2019.The award is to enable full time research leading to a Doctor of Philosophy or equivalent. The funded project can be related to any aspect of the mechanisms, diagnosis or treatment of acute or chronic pain.The applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. More Details
