THE CAPRICE JOURNAL / ISSUE 001, SEPTEMBER 2015
Oyster time

This September we have jam-packed the schedule. From the new craft beer & buns menu at Bam-Bou to our bespoke Single Malt Whisky at 34, we will have you running all over town. Plus, the native oyster season starts and we're celebrating with an exclusive offer at J Sheekey Oyster Bar, and recipes for tempura oysters and the all-important accompaniment for oysters “au naturel”.

Oysters & Pol Roger

To celebrate London Fashion Week, J Sheekey Oyster Bar is offering the chicest sip ‘n’ snack in town – just enough to satisfy the pangs between shows. Half a dozen West Mersea native oysters (in recognition of the start of the native oyster season at the beginning of the month) and a glass of Pol Roger Pure for just £19.75. Available now until Sunday, 21 September from midday till late.

34’s Single Malt Scotch Whisky

34 has teamed up with Speciality Drinks to bottle a very rare Glenallachie 34 year old limited edition, Speyside Single Malt. Available by the glass and for sale (limited number of bottles) from 15 September. Whisky from this distillery is seldom available to the public and to render this single malt even more special, Tracey Emin RA (who also curates private room at 34 – The Emin Room) illustrated the label.

New wine list

The wine list at The Ivy now includes up-and-coming varieties such as Mencia, Blaufränkisch and Assyrtiko, as well as a selection of rigorously sourced premium wines. However, never fear, the classics still remain.

Great Britain at The Ivy

Richard Bean’s fast and furious new play is an anarchic and foul-mouthed satire about the press, the police and the political establishment. The Ivy plays a supporting role as a setting for a few scenes in the play. Combine the show with a two course dinner at The Ivy afterwards.
