Balmain GP Casualty Fracture Clinic now open to direct GP referrals The appointment based clinic is staffed by GP, physiotherapy and nursing staff with X-ray on site and welcomes direct GP referrals of appropriate patients. The clinic works in close collaboration with RPA’s orthopaedic department and is able to manage injuries including un-displaced distal radius (including childhood greenstick), distal fibula, 5th metatarsal and radial head fractures. Meningococcal W vaccination for students in Years 11 and 12 In light of this, NSW will be offering a single dose of quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine that protects against serogroups A, C, W and Y to students in Years 11 and 12 through a school-based vaccination program from 1 May 2017. GPs should be alert for meningococcal disease symptoms in all ages and will be able to offer the vaccine to eligible adolescents when the vaccine becomes available. Click here to see the full alert.
