Health Quality Connect
AN E-NEWSLETTER FROM HEALTH QUALITY ONTARIO
LET'S MAKE OUR HEALTH SYSTEM HEALTHIER
Welcome
This is the second edition of Health Quality Ontario’s e-newsletter, Health Quality Connect, your source for the latest on health care quality from our organization. This month, we’ve launched an exciting Quality Standards program, released new quality improvement reports and recommended two health interventions for public funding.
Everyone wants high-quality care. But how do we know what it looks like? Enter Quality Standards, Health Quality Ontario’s new program that sets out to define best standards of care using clear and concise evidence-based statements. Do you want to get involved? We’re looking for participants to help develop Quality Standards for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, Wound Care and Hip Fracture. We’re also welcoming topic suggestions for new potential standards.

When it comes to public funding for health interventions, Health Quality Ontario makes recommendations based on the best scientific evidence. We want to hear from you before these recommendations are finalized. That’s why we post all of our draft recommendations and health technology assessments (HTAs) and ask for feedback. Now open for feedback: Composite Tissue Transplant of Hand or Arm.
Each year, Ontario’s health care organizations submit Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) to identify, measure and plan improvement goals. Now you can review and reflect on lessons learned in the latest reports in our Insights into Quality Improvement series, which provide analyses of the 2015/16 QIPs submitted by hospitals and Community Care Access Centres (CCACs). Coming soon: Reports for long-term care homes and primary care.
