You’re awesome, NEPA! 2019's Season Has Begun by Melissa Mauro With losing our two main venues, this season is anything by typical. And, with that, we’ve had our first 2 points events, held by the NEPA Region at Pocono Raceway this past weekend. We had a little over 30 Susquehanna members come and represent the Region and enjoy the competition. Pocono’s track allows us much higher speeds with much longer run times. The runs were an average of 75 seconds - which made for a lot of fun practice for all of us in attendance. Keep an eye out for the results to be posted online, as soon as they are available. I’d like to personally thank Chris Haydu, Dave Walter, Adam Koback, and the rest of the NEPA Region for letting us share in the fun. They have a great region and put on some amazingly fun events. Without their generosity, our season would be cut in half - so I am extremely grateful for them allowing us to join in their fun! Since these points events count in both of the Regions - make sure to check out their events as well. We will be running again with them in September, so I hope we have a good turnout of members in a few months. We’ll be finalizing some items with the upcoming events at Spooky Nook soon, so look out for the registrations to be open soon. Dirt Bowl 2019by Nick Landis Now that rallycross #3 is done, wrapped up and put in the books I think we can all agree that we don’t like that DRY of an event. We had a total of 43 competitors including our friends to the south from the DC Region. We had 5 runs in the morning session and 4 more in the afternoon session. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the bigger course this time and it held up well considering. We did have a few problem areas that we will properly deal with before the next event in September. Sadly, we had a few vehicles that didn’t hold up nearly as well, but that is racing. We have a 2 month break before the next event at the Farm Show venue on August 10th, so we can all clean the dust out of our vehicles, and air filters, and enjoy the downtime before jumping back at it. Registration is currently open for the next event and be sure to look for the event on Facebook so that you can share it with all your friends and family. I look forward to seeing all of you out in the dirt. News from SCCA 2019 Toledo ProSolo Fast Notes JUNE 19, 2019 — The 2019 Tire Rack ProSolo® Season has been abnormally damp, but this past weekend’s Toledo ProSolo took that standard to a new level. Near constant rain meant that no class had completely dry conditions. Drying conditions during Shift C’s morning runs gave second drivers had an advantage in those classes, but the rain returned with a vengeance during Shift D, giving first drivers the advantage. The rest of the weekend got increasingly wet from there. Improvements were few and far between as a few drivers cleaned up from dirty runs.
