Ms. Orton has already started co-planning with the 2nd grade teachers and working with the students in order to ensure a smooth transition. Meet Rachel HatchRachel Hatch is looking forward to joining the UDA/Ideate team in the role of Office Manager/Accounts Payable. She is a senior administrative professional and youth advocate with over 14 years experience in dynamic environments. Rachel was raised in San Diego and attended Point Loma Nazarene University. Her professional experience in education includes nearly a decade as the Site Manager for the flagship campus of the High Tech High network of charter schools, an internship at Kipp Adelante Preparatory Academy, and even some time at Austin Community College. Rachel will begin supporting both schools for the remainder of this school year as Kimmie Orton transitions from the office to teach 2nd grade. During the 2017-2018 school year, Rachel will be located at Ideate’s new location on Ash Street, but will still support UDA and the Network. Meet Mari MonroeMari Monroe is excited to join the 8th grade for the remainder of the school year to fill in for Mr. Clay while he is on long-term leave. She is experienced in working with students of all ages, was a swim coach for 8 years, a horseback riding instructor for 4 years, and a ski team coach for 2 years. As a teacher, she is eager to share these skills with her students while discovering their individual passions. Teacher Professional DevelopmentTeachers have been analyzing NWEA Map score data from the March testing dates. They are identifying connections within their Trimester III projects for opportunities to develop skills and also opportunities to provide direct instruction to support the growth of our students. Our 4th and 5th graders will have the opportunity to participate in this program next (beginning in May)!
