Girls Write Now Partners with Capital Prep Harlem Charter School
Girls Write Now staff members Sally Familia, Margery Hannah, and Jeanine Marie Russaw visited Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School to donate the five most recent volumes of Girls Write Now's anthologies to the school's library and to teach a writing workshop for female and gender expansive students centered on the question "Are we disruptors?"

Musicians, Artists, Poets & Comedians Come Together to Support Girls Write Now
At the sixth annual fundraiser hosted by Prophets Over Profits at ArtsDistrict Brooklyn, festival-goers enjoyed musical and comedic performances while raising nearly $10,000 for Girls Write Now. Mentees and alumni performed poetry and shared their stories on the main stage where Lion Babe, SUSU, Synead, Big Body Kweeng, and other innovative artists performed. We want to extend a huge thank you to festival organizer Dani Slocki, ArtsDistrict Brooklyn, Curb, Curious Elixirs, and every vendor and performer who came out to this exciting April Fools Day event!

Graduating high school seniors are invited to apply for the Dedalus Foundation Scholarships awarded for artistic excellence. The scholarship money must be used for school expenses.
