HESA Students Win WCU's 3 Minute Thesis Competition

1st Place: Roslyn Gowens

Congratulations to all three HESA student competitors: Dean Martin, Roslyn Gowens, and Sophia Calhoun.
Roslyn Gowens will be competing at the Regional 3 Minute Thesis Competition in Knoxville in February.

 

First-Year Cohort Research Symposium

May 2016 HESA Alums, Ronni Williams (UT Knoxville) and Joshua Cauble (Queens Univ),  at SACSA with April (and Paul Dean) in Myrtle Beach in November.

 
 

 May 2017 HESA Alums, Devan Lalas (MSPHS Boston) and Kelsey Woodford (WCU), joined HESA faculty, students, and Interim Chancellor Morrison-Shetlar at the WCU Homecoming Parade.

 

Congratulations to Justin Nakhle, May 2018 Graduate, who has been accepted to Texas Tech's Educational Psychology Ph.D. Program.

Dr. April Perry

In addition to serving as HESA Program Director and faculty, April is serving in an interim role as the Associate Dean of The Graduate School this academic year until the permanent position is filled.

Alex Kerns

Meet HESA's new GA! Alex graduated from George Mason University in May 2018, but calls Virginia Beach, VA home. He will be interning with Clubs & Orgs in The Department of Campus Activities next semester.

Dr. Yancey Gulley

Congratulations to Yancey for being selected as an ACPA Diamond Honorary at the 2019 ACPA Conference! Detailed coverage coming in the Spring 2019 newsletter.

The Leadership Minor has been moved under the HESA umbrella, and Yancey has been designated as the faculty coordinator.
