MESSAGESA WORD FROM JASON REDMAN Hello Team, I want to give a bit of gratitude for Neil, Simon, Locky, Rik, Mitch, Evan, Billy and all the team for an amazing performance over the past few weeks. In particular gratitude to Neil. We welcome Dave back from a holiday in Bali. He has had a great break which was well deserved. I want to give him a big round of applause for having the trust to take that time out. In regards to maintenance we are going to bring in a new regime for testing to ensure that items are coming through correctly. Part of this regime will be to focus on 5 or 6 key areas of photos that are going to come with the maintenance on a weekly basis. We urge you to ensure that they are sent through via your smart phones. I request that you are making sure the auto greaser and items have been checked off, that they are actually greasing they are not just dispensing out of one spot or letting too much out. We want to ensure that when service technicians show up to site they get the report they need, their equipment lifted up and they get preventative maintenance in areas that they need fixed up, ready to go prior to arrival. There will be rewards and there will also be some disciplinary measures come into place if these aren't adhered to. Our service technicians are valuable to our business and without them we could not ensure efficient maintenance and smooth operation of our cranes. So please look out for them when they turn up and ensure that they are looked after. Once again please look after your health. Its great to be writing to you again. Thank you and have a great day. Jason Redman A WORD FROM DAVE BROWN I would like to thank you all for your attendance and participation during our company training day on the 5th March. It was very impressive visiting the four sites where you were all engaging in the differing training that we were undertaking. Training is vitally important, as is better education and having the confidence and competence to complete your roles within the company. Both Jason and myself had the pleasure of visiting each of the sites and the feedback that we received from the trainers was absolutely wonderful. It was a display of the professionalism and confidence that Reds Global exhibits daily on our sites, to our clients and other trades that you work with. To organise a single format of training is not an easy thing to achieve, we look at training content, location and the amount of personnel involved, although on the 5th March, we had four locations with various training packages running concurrently. To organise four locations with the scope we did was a fantastic effort by all. I would like to thank Jason Redman, for having the passion and faith to ensure that we have these opportunities. I would also like to thank Glen Pears and Rachel Laidlaw for organising the locations, lunch and snacks and to our staff, Peter Hafey, Karen Fletcher, Abbie Sydenham and everyone else that assisted on the day. It was a great success and we really do trust that you got something out of the training day, I know i did. Please allow me to also take this opportunity to thank Ben Abas, James Moriaty and Neil Hodgen for the assistance that they give on a daily basis, especially whilst I was on leave recently. I know I say this often, but I must say it again. I am so very proud of the commitment given by Reds Global. Jason, our office staff, riggers, electricians and of course, each of you that make Reds Global exceptional. Please keep working together to assist us in ensuring that Reds Global are the 'First Choice in Materials Handling' for our valued clients. Lets keep working together to make Reds Global better then our competitors. Always remember to give that extra 10% as it makes a difference between being good or being exceptional. I am looking forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks. Please take care of each other. With kind regards TEAM OF THE MONTHChristian McGrath Well done to the crew who have recently finished up at Zetland. Their extraordinary efforts helped the job to be completed on schedule and ensuring our customer makes Reds Global their First Choice in Materials Handling. Enjoy your Gold Class movie vouchers guys, and thank you again for your dedication to our team! Dave Brown RECENT WORKSCritical works were successfully undertaken on several projects by Reds Global this month. These included: DISMANTLE Check out the photos from these projects by visiting the Reds Global Facebook Page at the button below. SAFETY MESSAGEHi Team, Safety currently sits at 1 Total Recordable Injury (TRI made up from a Lost Time Injury, a Restricted Work Injury and a Medical Treatment Injury) for the year compared to 6 in 2016. We are on track to reduce last year’s result by 30% with a long term goal of zero harm. A new Reds Global Health initiative requires all Reds Global employees to have completed a Fitness for Work Medical with a currency date of 3 years. A PCBU has responsibilities under the law to ensure health programs are implemented to monitor and manage any health risk to employees. While chronic health issues for our type of work are rare, the medical has the ability to identify problems early, so they can be addressed. It is a great initiative that can only benefit us, especially those of us that stubbornly hate attending a doctor. All medical reports are managed by the WHS Manager only, and remain private and confidential. From all reports the March training day was a success, and while it is important to understand that personal development is a critical part of being employed as industry moves forward, the knowledge, skills and competencies gained on the day will most certainly assist us in our future goals. Many thanks to all those persons that helped organise and attend the day. In particular Glen Pears, who really showed great passion in ensuring the day was a success. Stay Safe at Work and Play Hi All, Winter is nearing, reduced visibility along with slip and trip hazards that are much harder to control and a much larger risk of injury to pedestrians and workers with plant & equipment. Reds Global have introduced a Traffic Management and Pedestrian Plan for the Somersby premises. It is now well underway and will really make a large impact on access, egress, parking and pedestrian movement. New signage and line marking along with pedestrian barriers and bollard protection from moving plant and vehicles, will make the premises far safer and easier to navigate for workers and visitors alike. Our WH&S Manger, Peter Hafey has been a strong influence in the implementation of the plan and many are now able to see the results. It is not an overnight solution to alter traffic movements around a business with consideration given to the various roles trucks, plant, delivery vehicles, carrying large loads arrive and work around the office, workshop and the use of the surrounding roads. Three forklifts along with mobile cranes and delivery vehicles can be found to be operating in the yard at any given time along with workers and visitors. Minimizing risk is a priority for Peter Hafey and Reds Global management. We are all keen to receive your feedback the next time you visit Somersby. 'We R Safety First' you will all see this on the current PPE issue and it is vital that the message is understood and practised by all.
