Salamanca Pedestrian Improvements

Project update

The road and construction works along Salamanca Place are progressing well and we are on track to finish ahead of the original December completion date, leaving the Christmas and summer periods free for people to enjoy the area. The new zebra crossing has now been installed between Irish Murphy’s and Parliament Lawns. There are more zebra crossings planned for the area which will be installed at a later date.

Construction is continuing in the new plaza area and the site fencing will move next week toward the Salamanca Lawn area.  Work will continue on upgrades in this area, including new kerbs, installation of safety bollards, lights and the final touches to the new pedestrian plaza.

The new site area is mapped out below. There will be some temporary changes to how pedestrians walk around the area and also some changes to the position of the taxi rank, which will be moved back 4 car spaces.
