From the Editor's Desk

Hi There  -

For me to say this is the "off-season" is a little strange right now.  I went from our banquet, to the National Convention in Las Vegas, to hosting the NEDiv Mini-Convention last weekend, to our Autocross planning meeting on Thursday.  It's been all-things-SCCA, and even though it's been busy, I'm still ready for more.  Not only have I learned a great deal in the past month at these conventions, but I was able to share my story of our first Tire Rack Street Survival at both as well.  We have a lot of changes and new things we want to accomplish this season, and I'm confident that with the group of people we have leading the charge - we're in a good place to make this upcoming season great!

Note from the RE

Earlier this month, Susquehanna Region hosted the NorthEast Division SCCA Convention—for the first time in 18 years—and I’m happy to report that it was well received by all in attendance. About a dozen or so Region leaders and dedicated volunteers from the Region attended sessions ranging from leadership training and Solo course design to informative sessions on Time Trials and townhall discussions. If we each learned just one thing that can help improve the future of the Region, I’ll consider the event a resounding success. My hope is the other 90 attendees from 16 regions across the division see the same benefit as we head into the 75th anniversary year of the SCCA. That’s it for now.

Getting Ready for 2019!

by Melissa Mauro
I'm writing this only 2 days after our February planning meeting, held with the Autocross chiefs, and I can tell you - I'm excited about our 2019 season!  This will be quite a transitional year for us losing our long-time venues, but we look forward to the new opportunities we will have to grow and learn from Spooky Nook, and working with the NEPA Region on a combined event.

Please know that we are diligently working on finding more venues to expand our 2019 season, and as soon as we have more details for you - we will let you know.  Please trust me when we say that we want to race earlier than August just as much as all of you do!
