Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration: Theory and Practice

What are the complementarities between DDR and SSR when it comes to practice?  How can research in each of these two fields contribute to another? In his recent book, Desmond Molloy investigates this cross-cutting relationship and raises significant questions on current issues that fall under the scope of DDR such as the evolving threat of Islamic extremism.

Mandator: UN. 1 December. ISSAT supported a workshop in Brussels at NATO Headquarters that is part of a tri-lateral dialogue by the UN, EU and NATO that focuses on finding areas for collaboration in defence sector reform.

UNDP Global Programme Guinea Bissau

Mandator: UN. 28 November-9 December. ISSAT is in Guinea Bissau supporting the Global Programme on the Rule of Law, and the Guinea Bissau Country Office, by conducting evaluations to build an evidence base and to identify good practices, which will enrich programmes in different countries.
