Kia ora,

Tomorrow, Destination Hauraki Coromandel (DHC) are meeting with key agencies such as Tourism New Zealand, to share the immediate and potential long term impacts of this weather event. One objective is to seek marketing support for the region.

It’s clear there is an opportunity to promote a holiday that takes in all of Hauraki Coromandel via a road trip from end to end. This will be the focus of our coming campaign, with key messages such as:

1.     Travel is about the journey and the destination

2.     Now’s the time to take the scenic route

3.     Slow down and enjoy all our beauty

4.     Our doors are open, our guides are waiting and nature is calling

Parochialism...

...is great and we need to harness this energy and passion to make the best of our current situation, as well as the long term future of Hauraki Coromandel. It’s encouraging to see communities come out in support of each other which all helps to promote a region wide experience that features your community along the way. Now is also a great time to encourage locals to support local.

Map with Driving Times

DHC has put together an updated touring map featuring driving times and routes throughout the region. You are more than welcome to link to it, include it on your own website or print and pass it on to visitors.

Let’s continue to promote all of our unique region; working together we can offer an even better good for your soul experience.
