A MESSAGE FROM SCOTT HARDY

 Good Morning, Everyone!

I hope you had a GREAT week! I was in the amazing Redondo Beach meeting with Los Angeles area clients last week, and I have to admit, I may have finally found the "LA" I could move to. Our VP of Strategy lives in the area, and it was GREAT! It didn't "feel" like Los Angeles/Hollywood at all. Rolling hills, gorgeous ocean, and amazing weather. It was GREAT to get out of the heat for a bit! Thank you to Steve for "hosting" me in his city and all of the clients and business partners who came out to get together with me. Lots of great things coming!

On the subject of great things coming, we received reports from our awesome viewers that they got PAID for the Uber TCPA class action settlement, Sears Kenmore Grill class action, and one Western Union TCPA settlement got final approval (but checks haven't gone out yet).

Today is September 11th, 2018—17 years after the world watched the Twin Towers fall, and thousands lost their lives. What a horrific day. I still remember being surprised by the whole disaster as I arrived at work. Back then, I was 25, I didn't listen to or watch the news in the morning, and just cruised into work, as usual, cranking my tunes with my top down. Not a care in the world. I arrived at work, almost sat down in my office (which was completely empty, which was an anomaly), when one of my team members RAN into my office and said "What the hell is going on? What do we do?!?!?!" to which I replied "Huh? Where is everyone?" and my friend replied with incredulity, "Were you under a rock this morning? Follow me! We're being attacked!" So naturally, I followed him to a conference room where they had set a TV up and were watching the local news feed. I got there moments before Tower 1 collapsed. At that point, my cell phone started ringing and the chaos from corporate started. There was so much confusion. Here we are, working for what many people BELIEVE is the internet (this was back in my America Online/AOL days), and we needed to make sure our service was ON POINT that day. We were receiving thousands upon thousands of logins every second as people flooded online to figure out what was happening. So we got to work, we pushed through, but sadly thousands lost their lives that day and hundreds more die EVERY YEAR from injuries sustained that day and the days that followed. We're seeing reports of new cancers and diseases caused by the crashing towers for first responders, their families (remember they came home covered in asbestos/dust and other carcinogens, exposing their families to the same), and people who lived in the city (and surrounding boroughs) that day. If you know someone who was diagnosed with cancer or another serious injury please make sure that you check out the different 9/11 funds that were created to help pay for medical bills for those impacted. There are still millions upon millions of dollars that are available to survivors of that hellacious day.

If you can, hug a first responder today and thank them for their service. Too many brave men and women of the NYPD and every NYC firehouse lost their lives 17 years ago. You can still walk by any firehouse in NYC and honor the memory of those lost on this day. Every single firehouse lost someone either that day or from injuries suffered on that day or the aftermath. Their names are inscribed outside each firehouse.

Thank you for your work and sacrifice firefighters and law enforcement! We appreciate you!

OK, on to some more updates!
