Support our Tax Appeal and Help Henry get an Assistance Dog

Seven-year-old Henry is waiting for his new best mate...an Assistance Dog.

Henry has Asperger’s, so he has trouble making friends and often gets lonely. That’s why I’m urging you to make your gift today – so a puppy can finish his training and start helping a child like Henry.

If you’ve already responded to our recent appeal to help Henry, thank you for your generosity.  But if not, I wanted to let you know I still need your tax-deductible donation before the end of June to make sure I have enough money to train smart pups to become best mates for children like Henry.

Please donate now to help Henry get his new best mate.

Sam is Going the Distance for Assistance Dogs

On Saturday 13th September Sam Schmidt will head off from Perth on a 3,800km trip across Australia to raise money for Assistance Dogs Australia. This epic journey serves two major purposes and goals for Sam - one is to to do an extreme physical challenge and the second is to raise a large sum of money for a cause that he believes very strongly in – Assistance Dogs.

You can read more about Sam's upcoming adventure and suPAWt him on the Distance for Dogs website, and keep an eye on the Assistance Dogs Australia Facebook page for details on how you can help us give Sam a big send off on his PAWsome charity bike ride.

Seven new Super Puppies

The newest super puppies at Assistance Dogs Australia are now eleven weeks old and have headed off to their puppy educators to start their "L" plate training. They have spread themselves across the country, so if you are in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne keep an eye open when you are out and about 'cause you might just spot one! We still have a couple of vacancies for puppy educators and carers for for these little superstars, head to our website for more details and apply today.

Corporate Volunteers Needed

The super puppies need you! We are looking for teams of corporate volunteers for our annual events in Martin Place, Sydney  – Thursday 2nd October for Dogtober, and Thursday 20th November for Assistance Dogs Awareness Week.

We'll have a stall set up in Martin Place (near the exit from the train station) from first thing in the morning, to sell merchandise and collect donations. Assistance Dogs staff, dogs and teams of volunteers will head off and walk around the city with them from approx. 8am onwards raising awareness about Assistance Dogs Australia.

Corporate volunteers are welcome to visit their city offices with our staff and dogs to collect donations and sell merchandise.  From 12-2pm there is entertainment and dog demonstrations, this is a great opportunity to see first-hand what our dogs can do to help people with disabilities! If you'd like to get a team of your workmates together call 1800 688 364 and ask to speak to Amanda or email her here!
