Changes to OWS NVQ structure and CSCS cards

Following consultation with industry, the National Working Group (NWG) for Occupational Work Supervision (OWS) has confirmed the removal of the endorsement list and redefined the pre-entry requirements for the OWS NVQ/SVQ. Read more about the changes.

Bookings now open for Open Doors 2021

Open Doors 2021 takes place from Monday 4th to Saturday 9th October and goes behind the site hoardings to showcase the fantastic range of careers available in construction. Anyone interested in finding out more about the industry and what it has to offer can book their place now.

City and Guilds qualifications to require e-certificates

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme now requires those applying for a card with a City and Guilds qualification (issued from 1st January 2012 onwards) to submit their accompanying City and Guilds e-certificate as part of their application. For further info, read on.

Industry Placement card

The Industry Placement card is now available via the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and a number of other partner schemes, having been launched on September 1st 2021, in time for the new academic year. Find out more about the Industry Placement card.

How to be a smart site

CSCS has worked alongside Build UK to provide guidance on how to be a Smart Site. The guidance and accompanying poster prepares sites to check cards using Smart Technology and shows the best ways to check those not yet compatible with Smart Technology.
