Dear Parents,
It appears that the heat has broken, and we are all reveling in these amazingly beautiful days. Chengdu is at its finest, so let's enjoy the good air while it lasts! Cynicism aside, it is a great opportunity to remind everyone that the health and safety of our children is our top priority, and please rest assured that we are very active in terms of air quality control. For more information on our AQI policies and practice please visit our website at https://www.qsi.org/china/cdu/parent-resources/aqi-air-quality-policy-and-information/aqi-index-policy/
It is also a great opportunity to remind everyone to be environmentally aware and responsible. As part of our school accreditation with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), we are pledged to fulfill environmental goals.
By 2021, students at QSI International School of Chengdu will demonstrate environmental stewardship as measured by:
- A 5% decrease in the average amount of printed copy paper used by students during each school year.
- 100% of students will participate in activities that promote and develop awareness and sensitivity to environmental issues.
- A 10% increase, from Fall to Spring, in the overall score of the Environmental Awareness Survey taken by students each school year.
If you want to learn more about our accreditation, AQI policy, or environmental
issues at QSI Chengdu, please feel free to visit us any time, or, even better, make sure to join us at our next PSG meeting on September 14th at 11 o'clock in the secondary auditorium. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Dr. James W. Pilton, Ed.D.
