Hello LovesAs we near the end of one of the stranger years of my decades on the planet (and I've had some strange ones) I am proud and excited to let you know of some news. Many of you will have met me as I delivered training or maybe I was speaking at an event you attended. At those events, I've always wanted to have a Handbook that I can give everyone a copy of, a book that really bridges theory and practice, expressing how knowledge on trauma, attachment and adversity shows up and what we can do about it. A book that places relationships at the heart of our work across all the sectors. Well.... **drumroll** I've written it! This is the first link that I have so I'm sure it will show up in all the usual book buying places and spaces at some point, but here is the first opportunity to pre-order directly from Routledge! This book is for anyone working on the frontline with children and young people. I hope it helps... The conversations inside are precious and such a gift! In other news I'm 6 weeks into the first term of a three-year full-time PhD and I've finally settled in and am loving it! It's intense doing that while continuing to support schools, organisations and LAs with their requests but I'm managing. The PhD is adding to the small amount of research on care experienced adults reflecting back, in this instance on school exclusion and identity. Many of you will know that my book The Brightness of Stars which also has an autobiographical element, was one of the first to share stories of care experienced adults reflecting back across a number of decades when the 1st Ed was published in 2014. And now....? I have a Literature Review to start but let me wish you a beautiful weekend and thank you for being here. Some of you have been receiving Newsletters from me for over ten years on this journey, since I became self-employed and starting blogging! That seems like a long time ago now. THANK YOU! Big LOVE x |
