16 August 2018 ![]() ![]() ![]() On Monday 27 August 2018, we will be relocating to our new office at Level 5, 201 Coward Street, Mascot and closing down our Ashfield and Kogarah offices. We’re sad to say goodbye to the Ashfield and Kogarah offices but the new Mascot office will be bright, airy and modern. The move will save us money on rent and infrastructure and allow our staff to more effectively provide support to you from a central location within our region. ![]() ![]() Think, Eat and Move ProgramFrom September 2018, an innovative new approach to adolescent weight management will be available for young people aged 13 - 17 years who are above a healthy weight. The Think, Eat and Move Program (TEAM) is a free eight week program delivered via interactive online sessions and weekly health professional phone coaching. Health professionals can register eligible participants by returning the referral form by fax or email or by calling the TEAM registration line on 1300 899 736. Linking to a GP - Helping your patients understand the role of general practiceSouth Eastern Sydney Recovery College will be running a course which explains the role of general practice in supporting people with a lived experience of mental distress and addiction. App Technology in HealthOn 25 July, CESPHN held a practice nurse education session with Nurse Robbie Bedbrook. The session covered topics including chronic disease management plans, health literacy, building relationships with different generations and an insight into some great apps that you can use for helping your patients. Non-VR GPs – New program to attain your Fellowship with RACGPThe RACGP’s new Practice Experience Program (PEP) is a self-directed education program designed to support non vocationally registered (non-VR) doctors on their pathway to RACGP Fellowship. A pilot of the PEP will commence in January 2019. From 2022 onwards, it will be compulsory for all doctors to complete an RACGP approved program in order to be eligible to sit the RACGP exams. Resource: "Your body, your choice" sexual assault factsheetA new resource has been developed by the City of Sydney, Redfern Legal Centre and Study NSW in consultation with Rape Crisis NSW, NSW Health Sexual Assaunt Service and NSW Police.
