Opening Weekend Festival

How to Join the Event

The FIRST EVER iGEM Opening Weekend is starting in just 12 hours! We now have 50 confirmed sessions designed especially for iGEM 2020 teams and the iGEM community. We are trying out a few new platforms to make it all work. Registration is free across all events! See below for a guide on how to join sessions:

Introducing the Virtual Blueprint!

The Virtual Stage Blueprint

This weekend we will be testing a few virtual event hosting platforms across four "Virtual Stages": 1. Zoom Main Stage, 2. Hop-Interactive Stage, 3. Demo Stage (on Demio), and 4. Zoom Breakout Stages.

To make your weekend experience seamless, we recommend starting with these 5 steps to activate all the platforms on your devices:

1. GET THE SCHED APP - Get the Sched App or view Sched in your browser to bookmark sessions you are interested in, and create your own customized schedule! Get on Sched: https://igem2020.sched.com/

2. PRE-REGISTER ON HOP-IN - Pre-register for access to interactive events on Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 on Hop-In, or join at any time during the weekend by clicking the Hop-In link for that day.

3. PRE-REGISTER ON DEMIO - Pre-register for access to individual software and measurement sessions on Demio, or join during the session by clicking the join link on the session details.

4. CLICK TO JOIN ZOOM SESSIONS - All sessions hosted on Zoom can be joined at any time during the session by clicking the join link on the session details. For security, Zoom breakouts will use the password "festival".

5. Join the iGEM Global Slack Workspace to chat with fellow teams during the weekend.
