Why You Need Shareable Facebook Page Content for Your Real Estate Business

Content marketing is a term you’ve probably become accustomed to hearing over the past several months. With the rise of social media, marketing your real estate business via sharable content has become increasingly important to sustain your virtual presence, engage your audience, and grow your business.

What constitutes a shareable post on Facebook?

Shareable posts include images, status updates, articles, stories, contests, polls, and videos that resonate with Facebook users on a personal level, so much that it prompts them to like, comment on, or share your content, placing it in front of their friends. Getting consumers to share your posts is important because doing so extends your reach and develops potential leads.

Here’s how to seamlessly integrate shareable content into your real estate marketing efforts, and what type of content is recommended.

Images are the most powerful driver of shares and engagement on Facebook. Choose images that are out-of-the-ordinary or special, such as a stunning kitchen, a house in front of a beautiful fall landscape, or your smiling clients at closing, then caption the photo appropriately. (Tip: Asking Facebook users to ‘like’ your post typically results in 3X more likes!) Avoid posting only listing photos; mix them in with other images.

Post articles that educate buyers and sellers about topics that matter to them. Select a range of topics that will help potential clients become well-informed while staying on the pulse of their needs. Home staging, energy-efficient design, moving tips, and mortgage advice are a few examples that may pique the interest of potential clients.

Highlight your local service area. Keep in mind that many real estate agents sell homes to those who are new to an area. Spotlight community features, events, parks, schools and neighborhood data. Posting about your area can positively influence clients and solidify their decision to relocate.

Hold contests to quickly grow your fanbase. Contests are a proven way to generate immediate excitement and engagement on your Facebook page. Ask your fans to ‘like’ or caption a photo in order to win a prize, or utilize a real estate sweepstakes service that adds a fangate to your page requiring people to ‘like’ your page in order to enter.

Take advantage of auto-posting services that make your job easier. Page Engage, from the Real Estate Agent Directory, posts real estate related content to your Facebook page to build engagement and grow your client base. Peer Insight: Re-sharing your content on other social channels

“I share a lot of content on my Facebook business page to my other social sites, so that I reach as many of my followers and leads as possible. An important thing to remember is that you shouldn’t always re-share content as ist. If you are using Facebook-specific terminology, it won’t translate to other platforms.

For example, if the copy in my Facebook post says “Do you ‘like’ this renovated kitchen?” I will change it to say “Retweet if you love this renovated kitchen” for Twitter or ‘Re-pin if you love this renovated kitchen!” for Pinterest.

Also, my Facebook posts are sometimes longer than 140 characters, so I narrow it down to the most important words when posting to Twitter.”

Trending: 30 Days of Thanks

Trending this month on social media is '30 Days of Thanks.’ Social media users are posting once a day about something they are thankful for.

To get in on the trend for your real estate business, think of something you’re thankful for (for example, wonderful clients) and end your post with the hashtag #30days. Adding this hashtag makes your post searchable and allows leads to connect with you. Add another keyword after #30days such as #realestate or #yourcity to refine your post even more.
