  • Light weight aluminum body construction - A 25HP machine can utilize our largest diameter cutter. The 125mm diameter cutter with 22 inserts + BT30 arbor has a total weight of under 4.4lbs ( 2kgs)

PCD (Polycrystaline Diamond Inserts)   

 

Inserts Designed with:

  • Sharp Multi-faceted  Cutting Edge = Lower cutting forces   |   Longer tool life
  • Unique Edge Wiper = Excellent surface finishes
  • 45 degree Chamfer = Less burrs on part (eliminating secondary operation)
  • New Double Chamfer Insert design = Reduced tool pressure (HFT70201W05)

PD1 grade: Larger grain size than our PD2 for improved wear resistance. Enables high precision and stable machining by controlling the potential for built up edge. Faster cutting speeds than carbide.

Regrind Program = Tool Cost Reduction

The insert edge can be reground up to 4 times. The regrind stage is clearly marked on the insert with a star.

TIP of the MONTH

HFC cutters:

  • It is important to always have the equivalent amount of regrind stars on each insert installed in a given cutter body. 

  • If you replace inserts in house, be sure to properly torque down and secure the inserts as the cutter runs at very high speeds.

VM1 Carbide
