Netball and tennis players in Wandong will soon have more state-of-the-art courts to play on with building work starting at LB Davern Reserve this week.

The $545,000 project will see a new court base, playing surface and energy efficient LED lights on two shared use netball/tennis courts.

The project is possible thanks to $295,000 from Council and a $250,000 grant through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

ALLOW EXTRA TIME Works start on Windham Street

If you use Windham Street in Wallan, please allow some extra time as the first stage of $250,000 Council-funded works are underway.

The work zone is reduced to 40km/h during construction and at night and there are some detours in place. While there may be some minor delays, traffic will still be able to move through the area. Council reminds drivers to follow traffic instructions for their safety and the safety of road workers.

We're partnering with the Goulburn Valley Waste and Resource Recovery Group to better understand how you manage textile waste through an online community survey.

Textile waste includes items such as discarded or unwanted clothing, shoes, towels, pillows, sheets and blankets.

The survey closes at midnight on Monday 15 February. The results will be used to help develop a pilot program that will aim to reduce textile waste in the region.
