Register for the Mayor's Business Breakfast

Mayor Allan Thompson will host the next Mayor's Business Breakfast on April 8, 2015 from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. This will be Mayor Thompson's inaugural breakfast so please join us to welcome our new Mayor and network with distinguished guests.

The breakfast is always a lively event attracting hundreds of business people from across Caledon and beyond. This is the place to be as the Mayor and members of Council interact with guests, and get the community excited about what’s coming for Caledon. Take back insight into the plans for the four-year term ahead and Council priorities.

This Mayor's Business Breakfast will take place at the Royal Ambassador Event Centre, located at 15430 Innis Lake Road in Caledon East (map).

The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC) will once again be delivering the Summer Company (2015) program for Caledon. The Summer Company program supports students between the ages of 15 to 29 through hands-on business training, mentoring and awards of up to $3,000. 2015 Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence Program

Now Accepting Applications


Have you developed and implemented an innovative product or process within your agriculture or food business? If so, you could be eligible to receive one of the following awards from the Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence Program:

  • Premier’s Award (one award valued at $75,000)
  • Minister’s Award (one award valued at $50,000)
  • Leaders in Innovation Awards (three awards valued at $25,000 each)
  • Provincial Awards (45 awards valued at $5,000 each)

Eligible applicants include: primary producers, farmers, processors and agri-food organizations.

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., April 10, 2015.

Growth Management Workshop #4: Employment

On March 5, 2015, the Region of Peel hosted a fourth workshop to discuss the Region's employment trends in the context of the Region's Growth Management Program. The workshop had presentations in the morning followed by Q & A, and a panel session in the afternoon with a facilitated Q & A session with participants.

The Town of Caledon's Manager of Economic Development, Norm Lingard, participated in this workshop to discuss Caledon's role in the Region's future growth plan and gave insights to how its economy has evolved to today.

Top 100 Event | Cuisine-Art

Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) has named Cuisine-Art, an annual event featuring some of the region’s finest chefs, artists, food, and drink, as one of Ontario’s Top 100 events. Taking place at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, Cuisine-Art 2015  is scheduled for June 20 & 21.

Festivals and events of all kinds from every corner of Ontario were represented in the submissions – from community festivals to internationally recognized events. The 2015 Top 100 Awards were given out on Friday, March 6 during FEO’s Annual Conference.
