Mimi Sinclair February Newsletter No Images? Click here ![]() ![]() FEBRUARY - THE MONTH OF LOVE.February is the month we celebrate love. I used to look forward to giving my Valentines to classmates with so much anticipation I couldn’t sleep the night before. Now I do my best not to overindulge in chocolate and sweethearts! I thought it best to focus this newsletter on love for your home. My goal is to not only create a space that brings joy and happiness but to truly love it, which makes it easier to care for your home. A home well loved is not only noticed right away by the people who enter it, but will also have fewer problems with maintenance and upkeep in the long run. HOME MAINTENANCE - LOVING THE EXTERIOR OF YOUR HOME.![]() The outside of your home is the first impression you give to guests and visitors. Especially in Utah, it can be hard to keep on track with outdoor home maintenance because of the long, cold winters we have. These winters also give us lots more work to do when Spring comes and when Fall is coming to a close. Here are the top 6 outdoor home maintenance things you need to do when Spring comes, with links to local vendors to help provide you with the help you need.

You’ll want to use as little water as possible and prevent water from pooling. Use a glass cleaner to wipe down glass panels. 3. Clean exterior windows and inspect for any damage. Over time, all the extreme temps and outdoor conditions can really damage your windows. By cleaning them you will be able to enjoy a better view from the inside, as well as protect them against the elements. Click here for local window washers. 4. Clean, stain and seal wood. Check for signs of wear and tear, and replace anything that is damaged or decaying. If you are lucky enough to have a wood deck, you will want to be able to enjoy it for years to come! Mulch can also help to keep weeds at bay and hold your vegetation in place during any significant storms. Click here for gardening/ landscaping experts. 6. Power wash outer walls to reinvigorate your home. Whether you have siding, brick, stone, or stucco, you’ll need to periodically pressure wash exterior walls to remove mold, mildew, and dirt. Doing so helps to discourage rot and makes your home look more attractive. Contacting an expert is a good idea to make sure to avoid peeling paint and creating more work for yourself. The show focuses on loving and appreciating your home by staying organized and learning to take care of your things. The show has inspired many a viewer to start organizing their home even earlier than usual spring cleaning. One of my favorite parts of the show is when she greets the home & asks those who live in it to also greet and thank their home. Our homes do so much for us! They facilitate some of the best moments of our lives. They care for us - and we need to remember to care for them. Everyone accumulates stuff- it is hard to avoid it. But, there are ways to declutter and dejunk without getting rid of all the things you need. Sometimes though, you need to get rid of things and that's okay! Organizing your home will improve your relationships with your family, and allow for destressing and focusing on what is truly important in life. Take some time, and make a game plan on how you will organize your home this month! Here's an example of how Marie asks the participants on the show to start cleaning up. New RecipeHere is the recipe of the month. Try it out! Banana Protein Bread
Topping
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and then mix dry bread ingredients in a medium-size bowl. Add bananas, egg whites, and greek yogurt, and mix well. 2. Spray a bread pan with nonstick spray, then pour mixed ingredients into the pan. (Or use parchment paper for a healthier option) 3. In the same bowl (which should now be mostly empty), mix topping ingredients with clean hands. Be sure to sprinkle enough honey into the mix so that the topping begins to stick/clump together. Sprinkle topping over the bread mix. 4. Put in the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (the topping will still be gooey, but the bread should be solid and clean). Enjoy!
