How to Use Facebook Graph Search to Meet More Leads

90% of real estate agents are now using Facebook in some capacity for their business. Many agents have their own business pages to help connect with possible leads. Very few agents, however, know or use Facebook Graph Search to their advantage. Here's how to use Facebook Graph Search to meet more leads.

What is Graph Search?
Facebook made Graph Search available to all Facebook users in July. Graph Search is a social search that allows users to search through the wealth of data that lives on Facebook. Graph Search is like a Google search within Facebook that returns results based on information people and companies have provided to Facebook.

What Kind of Information Can Graph Search Provide?
Graph Search can provide any information that is listed in Facebook. This includes where a person lives, their relationship status, where they went to high school or college, any movies, TV shows or bands they like, and much more. For example, a search of “friends of friends who live in Chicago and who like dining out” would return a search of friends of your Facebook friends who live in the city of Chicago and like dining out.

How Can This Help My Real Estate Business?
Graph Search on Facebook opens up a whole world of opportunities for your real estate business. Now you have access to not only your friends’ likes and information but their friends’ information, as well as others. Knowing that more married couples buy houses than individuals, you could search for “Married People who live in (town, state)” and get a list of married people in your town that you can message about buying a new house. Graph Search makes it easy to develop potential client lists, search for people interested in real estate, and even determine a personalized closing gift.

Graph Search also allows users to search by industry, making it easy for agents to find mortgage officers, architects, attorneys and more in their area. This allows potential clients to find local real estate agents and connect with them. Just one more reason to have a Facebook page for your business.

Can Graph Search Hurt My Business?
Graph Search can hurt your business if you are not careful about what you post on Facebook. Because Facebook pulls information from people’s Facebook personal profiles, anything you have liked can be counted against you. So be very careful with what you like on Facebook.

Graph Search is a great tool for gathering information and finding potential new leads. Grow your business on Facebook by trying out Graph Search today. Just make sure the information on Facebook is what you want people to see.

Socially Graphic

According to a study done by NAR and Google, 90.5% of real estate agents are using social media to promote their business online. This study also boasts that 89% of buyers are likely to start searching for an agent online when in the market for a new home.

Make sure you stand out from your competition by integrating social media into your business.

Scheduling Posts

As an agent on-the-go, managing your time is a valuable part of your business. Facebook gives its users the option to schedule posts in advance, which could be an easy way to save time when you have a busy week away from the computer.

To schedule a post from your page, select the clock icon under your copy/image and choose when you would like your content to post. Once you are satisfied with the date/time select ‘post.’

To edit scheduled posts you can go to your ‘Activity Log’ and find them under ‘Your Posts’ in the left hand margin. Select the pencil on the far right to edit.
