Christmas payroll and recruitment deadline

Tell us early about your staffing requests

Salaries are paid early in December, on the last working day before Christmas. This means that there is an earlier than usual payroll deadline: 9 December.

If you want to have a job advertised before Christmas, we also need it to have been submitted and fully approved by 9 December.

Candidate pools

Creating a more efficient recruitment process

From 28 October we have been inviting individuals to join the University of York candidate pool.  The pool will include:

  • Grade 4 job candidates who, in the last six months, were interviewed and rated as appointable

  • Grade 4 and 5 staff that are subject to redeployment

The candidate pool will be made available to recruiting managers later in November. Recruiting from the pool will save you from spending time advertising and shortlisting.

Digital payslips

Moving to online payslips from 2020

From January the University will begin the process of moving away from paper payslips.

Currently payslips can be seen in MyView, but only by University employees.  A new dedicated service, provided by Dataplan, will let us provide online pay advice to all our payees and phase out paper payslips.
