Towards Shared Value

For nearly 10 years, EA Consultants has been working with private and public stakeholders to promote the effective delivery of services that offer value to low-income people. Our aim has been ambitious: to drive changes that improve the well-being of end-users and clients.  Our results have been tangible, from working with private companies to develop financial products that reduce clients' vulnerability or using client insights to strengthen a business line, to helping public agencies understand the impact of their programs on their end-users.

Over the decade, we have seen global gains in standards of living according to traditional measures. But we are also observing heightened financial vulnerability, violence, porous and often treacherous borders, and growing inequality. Traditional safety nets people have relied on in the past are being chipped away. While our goals haven’t changed, the world in which we operate has.  In response, we are adapting our strategy for achieving our goals. We are skeptical that market forces alone can resolve the deep and growing inequities in our societies. We believe we must take an active stance to build new models if we want to improve people’s lives and ensure the sustainability of the earth we all share.

Our work spans a decade, five continents, dozens of companies and millions of customers and end-users, many of who ask for more. More services, more transparency, more information, more affordability, and in particular, a truer understanding of their needs, goals, and concerns.  We are convinced that our work is just beginning.  We believe that the value that is created by the public and private sectors must not be concentrated in the hands of the few. Initiatives must benefit the owners of capital, but to do so equitably and sustainably, gains must be shared with end-users and clients, with men and women, with employees and community.

EA Consultants is well positioned to tackle the challenges of our new world with ambition, optimism, and a healthy dose of skepticism. We know that the work ahead will be hard, but “hard” has never been a problem for us. We are fixers, innovators, fearless adventurers. We also know we cannot do this alone.  We will seek new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. You are our valued partners, colleagues and friends, and we would like to hear your thoughts and ideas as we initiate a strategic planning effort to better serve the challenges of the new economic and political realities of our world.
