INPUT ON COUNCIL'S 2020/21 BUDGET
|
How would you allocate the next Capital Works budget?
We've started to plan for our 2020/21 budget, and we want you to let us know what you think should be in the budget mix. Your input will help to inform the Capital Works budget for the coming year as well as the four-year plan.
We've used this year's budget as a starting point. Do you think we've got the right mix for 2020/21? Use our online budget simulator tool to let us know.
You have $20 million to allocate across six themes:
-
roads and road safety
-
footpaths, walking and cycling
-
parklands, playgrounds and open spaces
-
township amenity and our natural environment
-
sports, recreation and aquatic facilities
-
community buildings and facilities
Take part online, grab a hard copy at a Customer and Library Service Centre, or catch us at one of our pop-up events around the shire - stay tuned to our Facebook page for times and locations.

JOIN THE WORLD OF WORM FARMING + COMPOSTING
Did you know, over half the waste the average household puts in their garbage bin is green waste and food scraps?
Let’s do something about that.
Worm farms and compost bins are an easy way to cut down on the amount of waste that is sent to landfill, with the added bonus of creating a fantastic organic fertiliser for your garden. Now that’s a win-win.
Even better, if you purchase a compost bin or worm farm from one of our participating retailers during the month of October, we’ll refund you up to 50% of the purchase price. Want to get involved? Find out more on the link below.

Outdoor fitness station officially opened
We were excited to open our brand new outdoor fitness station in Wallan recently, which is free for anyone in the community to use. Now that the weather is starting to warm up, head down to Hadfield Park and give it a go. The equipment is suitable for any athletic ability.
The fitness station includes a soft fall rubber flooring surface and long-lasting fitness equipment, all of which have instructions on how to safely use the equipment for those who are new to the fitness game.
Funding for this project came from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund, the Federal Govrnment, and the Wandong Wallan Lions Club

SEYMOUR FLOOD LEVEE CONSULTATION
Community consultation on the proposed Seymour Flood Levee has started.
Many areas of Seymour are built on the Goulburn River Floodplain, and a levee on the river would protect the town from a large-scale flood event.
If you're an affected landowner, you should have received a letter about the survey. Please follow the instructions in the letter about how to provide input. For all other community members, you can provide input via our community survey.
We received some great feedback from residents at the Seymour Show on Saturday, and we've got two more drop-in sessions planned for those who missed us on the weekend but would still like to talk to us directly. You can catch us at Chittick Park Community place on:
-
Thursday 10 October, 2pm-4pm
-
Tuesday 15 October, 5pm-7pm
Follow the link below to have your say.
