Disabled children are one-quarter as likely to play sport as their able-bodied friends.  The sport they want to do the most is swimming, but it can be unsafe or ineffective for them to learn to swim in mainstream group lessons.  Without one-to-one lessons, most disabled children will never learn to swim.

Level Water gives these children a fair start in sport by providing up to fifty one-to-one lessons.  Once the children are physically independent on the water, we reintroduce them to group lessons and help them progress into competitive clubs.

We started 18 months ago and are now starting to work at eleven sites across the South of England: Plymouth, Exeter, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Gosport, Mid Sussex, Wandsworth, Stratford (the Olympic Pool), Broxbourne, Cambridge and Southend.  In 2015 we will expand into the Midlands and Wales, then in 2016 hope to work across the UK.

To succeed and grow, we need the support of the swimming community.  Next year we will invite you to a series of fundraising events, including open water swims and triathlons.  We promise to put every penny raised back into the sport, getting new children swimming and helping them go on to compete themselves.
