4 Big LinkedIn Mistakes to Avoid

To use LinkedIn to its fullest potential you just cannot afford to make poor decisions which can hurt your brand’s reputation.

Here are a few LinkedIn mistakes you definitely shouldn’t make when promoting your real estate business on LinkedIn.

Don’t talk just about yourself

While it is certainly true that your purpose of being on this social media is to promote your business, talking only about yourself all the time is a big LinkedIn mistake. This audience is full of professionals who come to LinkedIn to do business, to learn, contribute and interact. They want content with value. Lambasting them with promos for your services is hardly a good way to engage with them or to create a meaningful relationship.

Monitor Twitter hashtags' results

To ensure Twitter hashtag efforts are paying off, the most important thing brands can do is to monitor their social media initiatives via analytic tools.

In fact, some social marketing tools, such as Sprout Social, enable real estate brands to not only monitor their past performances, but also track trending topics and hashtags found on Twitter.

This insight can help brands optimize their strategies and tailor their posts, and Twitter hashtags, to be more relevant for their target audience.

Video tours on Instagram

Try showing a 15-second video tour of a property by just capturing one to two seconds in each room. If you feel it moves too fast, keep in mind that the viewer can rewatch it and pause it. Your goal is just trying to get people interested in the property and your business.

Retain your current social media audience

Audience retention is an integral part of growing your social media channels. After all, gaining more followers won’t have as much impact if at the same time you are losing a significant portion of your  audience.

Some of the factors that cause your audience to leave are oversharing about one’s personal life, posting irrelevant or uninteresting content, and posting too often within a short period of time. If you commit some of these errors, work on correcting them.
