Burning in the open: have your sayWe know that burning in the open is one of the big issues for residents of the Adelaide Hills, so we encourage you to take the opportunity to shape the future policy around burning permits. Burning in the open
In response to the introduction of the EPA's Environment Protection (Air Quality) Policy 2016
(the Policy), we are developing a 'Burning Permit Policy' and declaring township boundaries for the purposes of administering the Burning Permit Policy. The most significant changes as a result of the introduction of the Policy, relate to the requirement for those within the Adelaide metropolitan area, and within any township, to obtain a permit to: - burn vegetation for fire prevention or control,
- burn agriculture or forestry waste, or
- burn off vegetation for any other purpose.
Important information
We understand this is a complex Policy so we have provided some important reading: Have your say
