Congratulations to our Monday night Stage 1 Beginner class. Just this week they finished their first 10 weeks. Of course, the class will now move on to Stage 2 where we'll add new steps to the dances they've already learnt, and three new dances - Samba, Rumba and Quickstep.

If you or somebody you know is keen to join a Stage 2 class, come along this Monday, 19 October. It runs from 7pm to 8pm at the Fraser Tech clubrooms.

Don't forget we have a full range of classes available, so no matter what your level we'll have a class that will work for you. Head to our website for the timetable.

Beginner class starts

A Stage 1 Beginner class will kick off on Monday, 2 November in the Fraser Tech Clubrooms from 8pm-9pm. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the class, please email the studio or call Michael on 021 273 8903.

Nationals are almost here!

Ooh, Nationals are just a couple of weeks away. If you're going to be at Mystery Creek over Labour Weekend, please make sure you cheer on these Footwork couples:

  • Brett and Emma (Latin)
  • Craig and Marion (Latin)
  • Stuart and Suzanne (all three styles).

And also throw your support behind the other Hamilton-based couples who will be familiar faces to Footwork dancers:

  • Paul and Kathryne
  • Bradley and his Auckland-based partner, Felicity
  • Jan and Fleur
  • Harvey and Lyn
  • Leandrie and her Auckland-based partner, Anthony
  • Ron and his Auckland-based partner, Yun
  • Steve and Trudy
  • Stuart and Sue.

If you haven't already, don’t forget to get tickets, although we understand they're almost sold out - especially for the Sunday night.

Being held for the first time in the Waikato, this premier dance event is a wonderful opportunity to see national and overseas ballroom, new vogue and Latin dancers right in your own backyard.

Last chance to register

Remember, this week forms were due for your medals in November. But don't panic if you forgot - just get them to us as soon as possible please. Entry forms are available at both studios.

For those people not doing a medal, you're most welcome to come along to support your fellow classmates on Saturday, 14 November. There'll be medals through to Silver level during the day, then the higher level medals in the evening.

Until we know how many medallists we've got, we can't confirm the times, but stay tuned!

The past two weekends have been busy with dance comps. Well done to the couples who have danced and a big shout out to all the social dancers who turned up at the Hamilton competition to help with set-up, did a range of volunteer tasks during the day, and then helped with pack-down. You're all awesome!
