Atelier Bindery Awarded Wisconsin Arts Board Folk Arts Apprenticeship Grant

For the upcoming year (July 2013-July 2014) , binder Florian Bieschke and bindery apprentice Emily Umentum will work together to create a set of custom bindings which will include both restorations of existing books and others built by hand from start to finish. Stay tuned for upcoming details on the apprenticeship as well as the venue that will feature the completed works.

Upcoming Class at the Clearing: Registration Still Open

Florian will be teaching a class entitled "Books By Hand: An Introduction To Hand Book Binding" from July 7 - July 13 at the Clearing Folk School in Door County. This class combines traditional, time-proven methods with individual design for the construction of a custom book that is unique and completely yours.
