HOME HIGHLIGHT - THE KITCHENPhoto: Courtesy of Kelly and Jaqueline Smith, clients from 2016 For many of us, the kitchen is the focal point of our home. They seem to create their own gravity, and a well laid out space can pull people together from every corner of the house. Kitchens aren't just a place to cook and eat anymore. A good kitchen gives you the freedom to show your culinary prowess, entertain guests, and push pause to enjoy a meal with your family. If your kitchen just isn't up to your standards and you're thinking about remodeling there are few things you should keep in mind. The functionality of the space should be the priority, but just personalizing it can be an easy solution as well. Not every kitchen needs a top to bottom overhaul to make the space more appealing. If you're considering a remodel to add to the market value of your home please get in touch. I would love to guide you through the process. Date: March 18 HEALTHY LIVING March is a great month to be a Utahn. The Wasatch mountains are packed to the brim with snow and there's a high possibility of skiing deep powder and a bluebird day in the same week! Meanwhile the Salt Lake valley starts to see our first few spring blooms and the warmer temps get some of us jones-ing to get out of the gym and hit the trails. With summer on the horizon, I like to look at March like a second new years. It's a great month to reflect on the health and exercise goals you may have set back in January, and kick them into high gear in the spring. Whether you just want tune up your beach bod, eat better, or are training for an event; March can be a great time to strategize for achieving those resolutions in the near future. If you're a competitive athlete keep a look out for upcoming races. Find the ones you're interested in and mark your calendar so you can set your training on pace to be at your best on race day. There are plenty of cycling and running races as well as triathlons throughout the west that are calling your name. If you need any suggestions please don't hesitate to reach out. MARKET INFORMATION According to a new study, the Greater Salt Lake area is taking the term "sellers market" to a new level. In 2016 sales of single-family homes increased by 13,600 or 1.3 percent; the highest number of sales in a decade. While the median price of a single family home broke another record when it peaked at $295,000. This is good news for both buyers and sellers. The market is a hit right now. Trends show that the Salt Lake area is generating more jobs and higher wages along a wider demographic than over the last several years. Growth is the main thing to keep in mind, and with interest rates still relatively low its a great time to pull the trigger on buying your new home. Sales and home values are predicted to stay on this upward trajectory. If you're thinking about selling, it could be a great time to get top dollar. And if you're thinking about buying, it would be strategic to get into something in your price range now because judging from the upward market trend... the timing is crucial.
