At long last we have the responsibilities of the three Ministers serving Defence – almost 100 days after Christopher Pyne was sworn in as Defence Industry Minister. But it's still unclear who's calling the shots.
As we went to press ADM Editor Katherine Ziesing reported from ADM's Northern Australia Defence Summit that Thales Australia will take over maintenance of the Armidale class patrol boats from Serco (DMS Maritime) next year. She will report further on the summit next week.
Also just in from Minister Pyne's office – an Australian Industry Opportunity Roadmap for Land 400 Phase 2 has been released and with only one day until registrations close (21 October), any companies with services or capabilities sought should register immediately.
