You might be interested in attending Wominjeka - the University’s Welcome to Country ceremony, which is a great opportunity to join with other students and staff to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and their Elders past and present. Graduate Researchers - Managing Data @ Melbourne ProgramManaging Data @ Melbourne is the University’s research data management training program. It consists of six short modules, which outline the fundamental practices of good data management. Develop the skills you need to draft your research data management plan. The program is aimed at MPhil and PhD students and all students should be automatically enrolled. The program is accessed via the My Communities section of the LMS. More details here. Innovation CompetitionEricsson Corp. is conducting an innovation competition, under the Ericsson Innovation Awards 2017 banner, or EIA2017 for short - it's an annual event with cash prizes (and a trip to Stockholm for the 3 finalists!) and great business building mentoring. Key Dates and ServicesSafety on CampusUniSafe app: All staff and students are encouraged to download the Safer Community Program’s free UniSafe app. UniSafe provides connection with the University’s support services and a direct link to Campus Security for emergency situations. The app also provides access to a range 24/7 emergency services, security escorts on campus, and personal safety advice. It can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play, with links on the Safer Community Program website. Out of hours incidents: For support/response to incidents that occur after hours the appropriate course of action is to call Parkville Security on 8344 6666. This number is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year. Security staff will provide an initial response, and then triage/escalate accordingly to the relevant on-call person (e.g., Wellbeing, OHS, emergency services etc) depending on the nature of the incident/support required.
