[DEP VET AFFAIRS]
August 14, 2014

This week I am in Darwin for Exercise Pitch Black 14, looking at the way modern air forces operate together in an international large-scale exerise environment. Follow us and check out ADM’s Twitter feed @austdefence for images of the event.

Sadly, this is my last Defence Week Premium as acting editor. Katherine Ziesing will be back on board mid next week after six months of maternity leave. Thank you all for your support over that period and I'm sure you will join me in welcoming Katherine back to the editorial chair.

The August edition of ADM should be hitting the streets any moment now and in it you can read stories about the Collins combat system that could have been; Unmanned MCM; greater use of simulation for ADF helicopter training; RAN sonar operators; DSRG; and much more. Also read the From the Source interview with Jens Goennemann, managing director of Airbus Group Australia Pacific.

Cheers,
Nigel Pittaway
Acting Editor
