A busy week in aviation with the largest expo in the region – the Singapore Airshow – causing the usual flurry of excitement among the avgeeks. ADM Deputy Editor at Large Nigel Pittaway was there and reports on a deal between BAE systems and Bell Helicopters for sustainment of the latter's helicopters – including the AH-1Z Viper which may come into play under Land 9000 Phase 3.

In more news stemming from ADM's 2016 Congress last week, Senior Correspondent Julian Kerr takes a close look into the Abrams following LTGEN Campbell's speech where he said the Main Battle Tank had a vital role in the close combat combined arms team. We also bring you a summary of US DoD Undersecretary Frank Kendall's acquisition reform lesson 101 which he delivered at the event.

ADM Editor Katherine Ziesing reports on the Air Mobility Group's evolution over the past two years and in a related story we see how the AMG's 285 Squadron has leveraged synthetic training to enhance delivery of C-130J operational effects and the training behind it.

Today also sees the swearing in of Dan Tehan as Minister for Defence Materiel and Veterans Affairs and Michael McCormack as the Assistant Minister for Defence – ADM wishes them well in their new portfolios,
