Tracey's Table - Special Edition

What can we do to help restaurants?

We all know that restaurants and the wider hospitality and leisure sectors are facing the fight for their lives at the moment to cope with the impact of the Coronavirus.
Many restaurants are putting in place special measures to keep customers and staff as safe as possible, or pivoting to takeaway and delivery whilst trying to stay in business.
It's shown how incredibly resourceful the fabulous hospitality industry can be in the face of real adversity. Here are just a few of their initiatives you might wish to support if you can.

We hope to issue another special edition soon to keep you updated and to try and support hospitality businesses at this challenging time, so please do get in touch with any contributions.  We are also speaking to landlords and operators constantly to try and carve a way forward and will help in any way we can.  Further support measures announced by the Government yesterday – 12 month business rates relief for all hospitality companies, an extension of the business interruption loan scheme and an increase in cash grants to small businesses, as well as a relaxation of planning rules to allow pubs and restaurants to become takeaways without planning permission – are all to be welcomed, but with a wave of closures and lay-offs announced yesterday this is a critical time for business owners and their staff.  Let’s all do what we can to lend our support.
